My first round of golf was in the summer of 1949 on a golf course with sand greens. Not a lot of break on sand greens, just hit it hard and hope. After I grew out of my knickers and started playing on grass greens, my love of the game really kicked into high gear. I was a general contractor for over 40 years and had a working knowledge of the Plumb Bob method used in the construction trades. During that time I started to use the Plumb Bob method to read greens, and still use it today.
