The Organization

PLM World is an independent, federally chartered 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to be the Voice of the User in providing an open forum for the exchange of ideas within the UGS Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) product environment. Citizenship is open to users of UGS NX, I-deas NX, Solid Edge, Teamcenter, and Tecnomatix software.

PLM World follows a strategic plan focusing on communication in both user-to-user as well as user-to-UGS channels. For user-to-user interaction, the organization offers an active organization that communicates at annual conferences, in regional users groups as well as on-line through the PLM World web site. Through networking, these users share best practices and technical techniques for implementing and using the software more effectively. For user-to-UGS interaction, we helped UGS create the Customer Involvement Process, which allows the user community to play a key role in the future development of UGS products. Through Enhancement Request voting and discussion during special sessions at annual conferences, users directly affect product direction. In addition, a new program has been designed to increase the value of the Voice of the User. PLM World will participate in UGS's Early Involvement Process to outline citizens' technical requirements in the next software release.

The Advisory structure of PLM World is comprised of the Board of Directors as well as Special Interest Group (SIG) chairpersons. Chosen from our citizen population, these individuals volunteer their time to ensure the success of the organization's mission.
