It was at that time that Robert had a nasty accident at work and for months was very restricted in movement due to a back injury. As Robert had always enjoyed making model aircraft as a hobby, Mary suggested that he start to make some wooden toys to try and bring back pleasure to small children who in many instances had lost the art of imagination at playtime due to the onset of television and video games.
Very soon it became apparent that Robert could not keep up with the demand for his toys and with the safety aspect ( ie CE Marks etc ) Mary decided that it was time to take the Money they had made and look for the old fashion toys that are fun to play with but at the same time give children so much pleasure.
Robert now says that this is no longer Mary’s passion but an obsession as she spends so much time looking for different educational toys that are fun to play with, but at the same time give children so much pleasure.
