Playgoers Society of Dartington Hall
Description
The Playgoers' Society of Dartington Hall was founded by Dorothy Elmhirst in 1946. It is now one of the leading theatre groups in the region, with a reputation for high quality and adventurous productions. Our membership stands at about 150, drawn from all over South Devon.
We produce an open-air show in the private garden at Dartington every summer, often with a professional director, plus two major productions in the Barn Theatre (April and October). In addition, we present small-scale studio work at Bogan House, Totnes in December and February each year. A new venture for 2004 was a second open-air production in the Chairman's Garden at Follaton House, Totnes, the head office of South Hams Council.
Please contact us for more information on Playgoers, to join the society, or to provide feedback on the website. New members are always very welcome - we are keen to hear from you whether your interest lies primarily in acting, backstage or administration.
