Title
PlasmoDB : The Plasmodium genome resource
Description
This is release PlasmoDB 5.0. It is the first phase of our move of PlasmoDB to its new architecture. The first phase has accomplished much, but, there are still datasets resident in PlasmoDB 4.4 that have yet to be moved over.
Plasmodb.org hosts genomic, proteomic and other accessory data for different species of the parasitic eukaryote Plasmodium, the causative agent of the disease Malaria. The website and the associated database is maintained by a group supervised by three co-PIs: Drs. Christian Stoeckert, Jr., David Roos, and Jessica Kissinger.
The website was initally funded by the Borroughs Wellcome Fund, and now operates under a grant from the National Institute for Allergies and Infectious diseases (NIAID; NIH grant R01 AI058515), and an NIAID Bioinformatics Resource Center contract HHSN266200400037C to provide Apicomplexan Database Resources.
