Pix International is a photofeature agency that covers entertainment,cultural and historical events in Chicago.Our photos are syndicated to accredited publications locally and around the world.
Pix international(or "pixintl")was started in 1976 by photographer Linda Matlow who got her start in photography while working in Public Relations and after completing photo studies in New York and locally at the photographer co-op,"The Darkroom.".As a photographer,her early clients included newspapers,magazines and a variety of radio stations,record companies,and public relations firms.Linda was photo editor and bureau chief of a few local publications and has won numerous print photo competitions . In 1982 Pix International branched out to represent other photographers and writers.To date, Linda Matlow has had over 32,000 photos and stories published worldwide in addition to the work of the agencies photographers and her corporate work.Linda also writes a monthly entertainment column that is published in the midwest and overseas.In 1994,Pix International became incolved in electronic publishing and published RETRO photo music magazine ,CRE8 a graphics how-to publication and ARTchive a celebrity photo publication. All were distributed on a floppy disk.
This is the largest independently owned entertainment archive in the midwest encompassing at least 100,000 images.We do not store our high res images online on this server but have remote access to them at different locations.If we are out of town,we will still be able to fill photo requests.
