Shoes for Racing Fans-Pitsider Apparel

- Pitsider Apparel Company started with a thud, explains company founder Jeff Hampton. "I was attending a drivers' meeting before a midget race at a local dirt track. As the meeting broke, the water truck just finished watering the pit lane. For those who have never tried to traverse a freshly watered pit lane, it can be treacherous. The mud either sticks to your feet where you feel like you are wearing cement shoes or like this night, it’s slicker than snot. I made it halfway across the lane when both feet slid out from under me. I was covered from head to toe in mud. After a few expletives and a considerable amount of embarrassment I made it to our pit. My dad laughed and said "I hope that’s not an omen." I was in no mood to joke. I told him someone needs to make a shoe that can walk in this stuff. He said with a laugh, "It looks like that someone should be you." I told him "Yes, real funny." I threw my tennis shoes on the rear tire of the race car and went in to change into my driver’s suit. When I came back out I saw my shoe on the tire. Something clicked; I looked at shoe, and I looked at the side of the car. I yelled to my dad, "I am going to make the shoes and I know how to promote them.” The saga began. Keeping to the Pitsider goal of driver development, Pitsider is introducing its new tracksider shoe. This shoe was designed for the race fan. The Mudeater was very successful but we want to introduce a shoe that appeals to all race fans. This shoe is state of the art. It runs up to 11 degrees cooler than any other shoe, weighs about as much as a light pair of house slippers but is a durable tennis shoe. The shoe can go from wet, i.e., out of the washing machine, to dry on your feet in minutes. We are very excited about this product and expect great sales. Thanks for your support of Pitsider and our goals.
