South River Trading Company is a family owned and operated business. The family roots were planted near the South River in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and our first business operated there for nearly twenty five years. Times changed and economies changed and like many, the family dispersed across the country. Holidays and celebrations were major events within our family and continue to provide a focal point for the gathering of our family.
During a recent holiday my children and I were enjoying each other's company and searching for ways to stay connected as they prepared to disperse across the country following graduation. We conceived this idea for customized wrapping paper as a business we could all share, taking advantage of the Internet, working together although we were apart. The kids are contributing artwork, commercials, research and development and business activities, while the Dad, that's me, prints and ships the paper.
