Description
Dale N. Swope, CPP, FPh started his career in the early 60's as an Industrial Photographer for the Potomac Edison Co. Under his leadership, the company established their first Photographic department. Swope worked to expand the department for more than 20 years before leaving to start his own studio (Photography by Dale).
Photography by Dale was established in the late 70's and is currently recognized as one of the premiere photographic facilities in the tri-state area. Swope was the first Photographer in eastern Maryland to earn the "Certified Professional Photographer" degree from the Professional Photographers of America. He also holds a "Fellow of Photography" degree from the Maryland Professional Photographers Association. In addition to these degrees, Swope has served on the Board of Directors for the Professional Photographers of America.
He has also written articles published in their national magazine and other regional publications. Among his achievements are many national award winning prints and numerous regional, state and local print awards. Swope has also served on the boards of the Pennsylvania Professional Photographers Association, The Hagerstown/Washington County Chamber of Commerce (Vice President), The Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Hagerstown Rotary Club. Swope is probably best known for his work as official Photographer for the Miss Maryland Pageant. He was also selected "Small Business Person of the Year" by the Chamber of Commerce.
