Phoenix Fireworks was started in 1972 by Ian Craig who worked as Director and General Manager of Joseph Wells & Sons firework company for 3 years (and formerly for Schermuly Rocket Co for 7 years). He continued the display side after Wells stopped their display activities. Since then the company has gone grown year on year, and is one of the Fireworks pioneers in the UK. The company operates mainly through the UK as well as internationally from Norway to India to UAE and is credited with firing the Sony Bravia Paintworks advertisement and providing the UK pyrotechnicians for the London Eye's New Year's Eve fireworks celebration.
Although cutting edge computer systems are used today to extend the art of the display designer, Phoenix retain the traditional firework skills and use combinations of the two to craft their innovative displays.
