Pfosphene will be my endeavour to improve my photography. I will have a new photo every day for a year starting August 8th, 2005
Methodology: I've initially been attracted to photography as a medium of honesty. I enjoy shooting in a photojournalistic style of capturing a place, time, expression, or emotion. Aside from having a friend stand in a shot, or waiting for an object/person to enter/exit the frame; I try not to stage my shots. If I turn up to a waterfall in the mountains with hordes of tourists abound, and shoot only the waterfall as though it were serene wilderness, to me I am lying to you about place and time. Although lately with my shots this is starting to change, you will see some objects I've started shooting still life with, as well as some obvious post processing in my images. I'm very open to experimentalism in the medium; however, I'm adverse to what I consider misrepresentation in an image.
Influences: A lot of the regular classics I guess - Lee Friedlander, Robert Frank, Weegee, Nan Golden, Henri Cartier Bresson. In a more modern sense a thanks to Miles whose impressive photoblog influenced me to set up mine, and for pointing me to pixelpost to do it.
