Peter Banfield Independant Estate Agents
Description
Peter Banfield and his wife Fiona have opened Crowborough’s most established estate agents office, built 70 years ago for Mr Donald Beal in the most predominant position in the high street. Peter has many years experience in the sale and acquisition of property initially working as a trainee negotiator in 1979 on the south coast. His career has covered many aspects of the housing market including a long spell working as Operations Manager for a high profile property development company specialising in the building of executive homes. In more recent years held positions as branch manage valuing and selling town properties in Hove, country houses in the villages around Edenbridge, Kent, and finally in Heathfield selling Farms and equestrian properties.
Fiona Banfield has lived in and run her own company in the USA specialising in the sales of building plots in the sunshine state of Florida, to English people for rental investments. Her role encompassed overseeing and advising on the building program, interior design, furnishing the completed house and finally finding and managing suitable holiday tenants. Homesickness was the cause for Fiona’s return to England in December 1996, which was when a mutual friend introduced us to each other. Fiona then joined the ‘Donald Beal’ team in Crowborough learning the English way of buying and selling houses, until its closure in early 2001. Time was then taken out for the birth of Zak Banfield, weighing in at 7lb 3oz on 27/09/2001.
The opportunity then arose for Peter and Fiona to combine their knowledge and resources, with a view to opening their own agency. After a lot of telephone calls, emails and stress the lease was signed and the empty office of Donald Beal was once again returned back to how the people of Crowborough have always known it, as an Estate Agents.
