Title

Pet Connection Humane Society

Description

In September of 1998, a group of concerned citizens met to discuss the animal overpopulation problem in our community. These people started fostering some of the orphans in their homes and located other foster homes to help with the mission. Successful adoptions were the goal and many orphaned pets found permanent, loving homes with a little help from their friends.

Seeing the demand for another pet adoption center in the Bismarck-Mandan community, these first board members showed their commitment and dedication. The Pet Connection Humane Society (PCHS) became a reality in May of 2000. The building is state-of-the-art, with an indoor park setting and indoor dog runs which make it possible to keep the kennels “squeaky-clean” even during the coldest North Dakota winter. The PCHS is situated on nearly 18 acres and is nestled near a beautiful natural pond, which is home to several types of waterfowl. While our volunteers walk the pooches around the pond, they may be treated to the sight of pheasants, deer and ducks!

The PCHS was built for the Bismarck-Mandan community. In addition to placing orphaned pets into loving homes, there are many community programs that are being offered.
