Perth iX is a world-class datacentre in one of the safest places on earth. We are located in the most remote city in the world. Built around the resources sector the city services the oil and mining industries in the state and surrounding regions.
The Asian economic crisis (which affected mining prices) and the dot-com boom in the late 90's and early 00's motivated quite a few resources companies to invest heavily on IT infrastructure. This resulted in one of the most wired and techno-savvy cities in the country.
Perth iX was a product of this heavy investment phase. An amazing $3.6 million was spent on the facility which boasted the very best of everything. The latest from Cisco, Lucent and Dell - not to mention the triple redundant power systems including an oversized generator, biometric readers, proximity cards and motion sensitive image recording system.
