I always enjoyed art and creative work but this was kept to a spare time activity until I moved to Ireland in 1985 when I started to paint watercolours. These were inspired by the rural scenery on the Roaring Water Bay coastline near Skibbereen. I tended to paint buildings.
Back in Ireland and now living in Cork City I painted boats and started selling paintings of Tall ships on the street in Cobh in 1991. The boat theme continued with the Schull and Newport exhibitions from when I returned to Wales in 1992.
However I also wanted to paint windows and Rayburns which I was able to with the market found by the Newport Collective from 1995.
