The Prince Edward Island Genealogical Society was founded in 1976 to serve the genealogical community, and to further genealogical research in P.E.I. Four meetings yearly are held, and a large, informative newsletter is published quarterly, in February, April, September, and November. The society has published transcripts of P.E.I. cemetery information, and books on English, Irish and Scottish emigrants to the Island. The 1881, 1891 and 1901 censuses are available in both disk and paper form.
