- The Division of Pediatric Surgery is devoted to the comprehensive care of newborns, infants and children with surgical problems. Thanks to a team approach involving multiple specialists, nurse practitioners and the office staff, our five surgeons are able to ensure that patients' needs are met both before and after the surgery. Every year we perform more than 2000 major operations and 1500 minor procedures. We also service the pediatric surgical needs of the 75000 outpatient visits to Miami Children's Hospital. Our division is in charge of the state approved children's trauma center which takes care of approximately 400 trauma victims a year.
