- I began selling hair accessories to salons in the Chicago land area out of the trunk of my car in the late 80's. I was a small player in a big market; a market dominated by distributors who could deliver a variety of products, and who had established long-term relationships with both the vendors and the salon owners. Despite these competitive hurdles, I thrived. I was successful early on because I learned that customers need and want more out of their suppliers than just products. Salons and stylists want support, education and most of all, a partnership: a partnership that assists them in nurturing and growing their business.
