- Patron Profiler software was created as a result of helping restaurants run promotions in the Dallas area. We began to realize that most restaurants have no idea who their patrons are. I reaffirmed this belief one night while leaving one of my favorite bars where I had just spent about $85 on cocktails. Before I crossed the street to meet some friends at another bar, I popped into my car in the bars parking lot to get a cigar. As I was leaving the parking lot, the owner of this bar cursed me and called me worse than a loser for parking in his lot and walking across the street to another bar. I surprised this owner by calling him by name and pulling out my just paid receipt. I handed him a PickaRestaurant.com card and told him that I'm getting my friends at the bar across to bring them bar to his bar. His embarrassment was apparent. My ego was bruised a bit for not being known by this owner. The next day I collected receipts from the last 10 years of money spent at this favorite hangout. I was embarrassed that these receipts amounted to more $18,000, much more than the value of my several year old BMW which I still drive today I then stopped by to lectured this owner that he had no ideas who is good clients are, and that there are ways to better keep tract of patrons and increase business. I was hired almost on the spot.
