Excerpted from the website:
- At the dawn of the 20th century, the Onancock Dock was a hub of agricultural commerce. During potato harvest season horse drawn carts would be lined up on Market Street waiting to unload their barrels of sweet potatos at the town dock. They would be stored in covered sheds until loaded onto steamships headed for Baltimore and other city ports. Hopkin's and Brothers was the business hub of the town dock. The steamship ticket office booked staterooms to passengers. Both buildings are still at the dock, though have been moved from their original locations.
