- In March, 1921, Henry Levene opened an 800 square foot auto parts supply store on Water Street in Binghamton and incorporated it as United Auto Parts. It was from this location that the company began. In the fall of 1921, Henry's cousin Charlie Levene joined him as a partner. Together they set out to service customers in the local area from the back of a truck, selling items like bumpers, springs, ring gears and brake bands as they made their rounds.
