- The Center for the Advancement of Collaborative Strategies in Health was established in 1998 to help partnerships, funders, and policy makers realize the full potential of collaboration to improve community health and the functioning of health systems. Working closely with people and organizations involved in collaboration, the Center conducts research studies, analyses, and joint learning activities that address key challenges associated with collaboration and translates the knowledge it obtains into practical tools and training programs. Areas of concentration include: partnership synergy – strengthening the ability of partnerships to assess and achieve the unique advantage of collaboration; community governance – developing procedures and structures that routinely involve a broad array of stakeholders in community decision making and action; and Medicine & Public Health collaboration – identifying strategies that connect the fragmented components of state and community health systems.
