- The inspiration for Paradise Islands actually came way back in the early nineties when the Editor (then working as a photographer and travel publisher) decided to write a book about the Caribbean (a pictorial 'coffee table' type guide with lots of glossy images). Like many plans the project never got off the ground with the introduction of children and a career change.
