- . While enjoying a drink at the bar, the two audiologists – William Lee Parker and Phillip Burney – discussed the highs (and lows) of their seminar experience. Both wanted a change of pace and by the end of their meeting, they had developed the perfect seminar concept: Continuing Your Education While Enjoying a Golf Destination Resort. After a year of research, planning, and development the concept was rechristened Palm Springs Hearing Seminars, and the inaugural session was held in December 1980 to the delight and satisfaction of its founders and participants.
