- I come from a family of artists in Massachusetts and moved to Iowa to attend graduate school in 1977. After nearly 20 years as a counselor/social worker, I enrolled in the UI Theatre Dept. and spent 3 years studying set and prop design, and stage management. I took many art and design classes and decided to open a consignment store of art, custom made furniture and home decor called Artifacts. This is where I began to utilize my design and staging skills. Since then I have received my Home Staging Expert and Re-design Expert certification after training with CenterStageHome in Minneapolis. Last year I staged and sold my own home. I had one open house and received multiple offers at my asking price within days. I'm convinced that staging really works!
