PakistanEmergency

General Pervez Musharraf imposed emergency in Pakistan on Nov 3, 2007. This infact is not emergency but Martial Law. This makes Pervez musharraf the only man in the country's democratic history, who has imposed the martial law twice in a country.

Currently, all the civilians are protesting against the illegal imposition of the army in the country.

Latest Updates

The Martial Law continues. One of the prominent and seemingly sincere Politician has been arrested and ill-treated by Jamiat students who are in favor of the islamist parties.

  • Imran khan has been released by punjab police around 8pm on Nov 21, 2007. See this.

Things are getting worse...

List of Protests

Following are the lists of all the protests that you may want to join

  • Nov 7, 2007
    • Place: LUMS University DHA Lahore
    • Timing: 1PM-2PM

Real reason of the emergency

Mr. Musharraf was terrified that the supreme court of Pakistan will give decision against him. Supreme Court was hearing the case of the legality of his holding the President's Office side by side being a Chief of Army Staff. The other issue was whether he can be elected as the president of Pakistan for the third time (violating the clause which was made part of the constitution by the General himself) was going to be decided on Nov 5, 2007.

Hi Usman,

I am a producer at CNN International and I need to certify that you took the photo submitted to IREPORT from Pakistan. Also, can you tell me if you are at least 18 years of age? If you could tell me a little more about the scene and why you submitted the photo to IREPORT I would really appreciate it.

Thank you so much,
