- Padre Computers started on a hot Summer's day in August of 2002 when Rick Smith and Derek Burgess began working on computers out of their homes. As the business grew they hired Andrew Duncan to help out and he eventually took over most of the work. In September of 2003, Padre Computers opened an office in Flour Bluff, Texas complete with inventory for sales and a small but highly capable work area.
