P&M Services (Rochdale) Limited, or P&M as we are more commonly named, was founded back in 1964 by Husband and wife team Peter and Margaret Unwin. It was later registered to it's present name in 1965.
An employment dispute combined with the loss of his Grandfather John Robert, provided both a reason and a means to create the company. To this day a photograph of the J R Unwin Pawn shop hangs in the office; it was the source of the money that made it all possible. The other Director at the startup was Robert Francis Unwin, Peter Unwin's father, who also helped financially by loaning money into the company.
