Oregon Employees Federal Credit Union is insured through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government. All share accounts in federally chartered credit unions are covered by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), an arm of the NCUA. This fund is at its strongest and best reserve level in its history.
Having a federal charter means that OEFCU is regulated and insured by the federal government and requires the credit union to place the term "Federal" before the words "Credit Union".
