We are transplants from Sonoma and Mendocino Counties in California. This is the heart of CA wine. We were fortunate to live amidst so many wineries that it was nearly impossible to keep up! Darn. Yet we tried, and it was at those wineries that we honed our tasting skills. It takes Practice! We have "practiced" in such far flung regions as Virginia and France.

Umpqua Valley AVA is located 3 hours south of Portland off the I-5. There are 21 tasting rooms. Because the weather is drier and warmer than the Willamette Valley many warm weather varietals are grown including Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Syrah to name a few.
