The Oregon Bioscience Association (OBA) is the leading support apparatus for the infrastructure of the bioscience industry in the state. With more than 600 firms and 8,000 employees involved in Oregon bioscience, OBA is essential in assisting both in daily operations and ensuring the future growth of this key sector of the state economy. With its stated mission of promoting "the growth and quality of the bioscience industry in Oregon", OBA provides crucial local and international synergy between industry employers, individuals and institutions. OBA is also the organizer of the annual "Bio On The Vine" event, called by "the major networking activity of the year" by local bloggers.[1]

OBA Members

OBA serves all aspects of the bioscience industry in Oregon. Vital infrastructure such as advertising/marketing from Blue Research and the work of IDC Architects supports the core of the field: bioscience education and research such as from OHSU's OGI School of Science & Engineering and Genentech, Inc..

Member services

Among it's services, OBA ensures the development of members through tapping in to the most fundamental of resources: the workforce. For individuals in the field looking to connect with member firms, OBA provides an extensive jobs listing. By providing an annual job fair and other opportunities, OBA provides an organic tool build the economic strength of members. OBA provides other important components such as research products and consulting in a variety of fields. OBA also connects members to exclusive amenities; OBA members can access OHSU's Research Directory. The ability to retrieve not only the research of one of the nation's top universities, but worldwide publications and grants, provides an invaluable hands-on aid for Oregon bioscience firms.

OBA not only works with member businesses on a day to day level, it secures the future growth of bioscience in Oregon through advocacy. Partnering with the Biotechnology Industry Organization, the premiere international bioscience agency, OBA works to provide important non-partisan leadership for Oregon's bioscience industry.
