- The Opera Tampa Apprentice Program, beginning in the 2007-08 season, will serve the Tampa Bay community by educating and communicating the beauty of opera to its residents. The program will feature five singers, chosen after taking part in a nation-wide search, who will serve as ambassadors of opera and song for the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. World-renowned baritone, Sherrill Milnes, the Apprentice Program’s director, singer-Soprano Maria Zouves, and other internationally acclaimed artists will help the apprentices with career development, while educating the community and providing musical workshops, master classes and performances.
