- Had been a special events co-ordinator with the Province of British Columbia (1988-90) .

- Chair of Okanagan University College (1986-88).

Possessing an extensive background for community relations, she has been co-ordinating special events and community relations for government ministries, Crown corporations, provincial agencies and other public and private sector clients for the last 20 years.
Oona as a tour co-ordinator
- Coordinates for tours such as the Ministry of Forests’ 2003 Forestry Revitalization Exhibit, the BC2000 Millennium Book Tour and the cross-Canada Queen’s Baton Relay for the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria.
- In 1997, on the behalf of Vancouver International Airport Authority, she organized the ACI Pacific International Airports Conference
- In 1994 and 2001, organized YVR Community Airports Conference.
- In 2005 she organized The "GenerationYVR" and "BC Communities 2045" forums
