One Acre Design
Description
One Acre Design is the full-service freelance web and graphic design enterprise of Rick Schober, a seasoned award-winning professional with experience dating back to the pre-PC era when cutting-edge design skills included the proper use of T squares, ink pens, and press-on type.
The design studio occupies one room of a renovated 1820 farmhouse on one acre of land (hence the name "One Acre") in northern central Massachusetts, strategically located within 60 miles of Boston and Worcester, MA; Nashua and Manchester, NH; and Brattleboro, VT.
We believe that the essence of good design involves what we call an "economy of style." For each project, every line, shape, and color should serve some real purpose. The placement of each letter or image on a print or web page should be meticuloulsy thought out. No visual element should be included for the sake of pure ornamentation — unless, of course, the nature of the individual project demands it. In Walden, philosopher/naturalist Henry David Thoreau urged his readers to "simplify, simplify." In our work, we attempt to do just that.
