A QUEST FOR THE BEST It began in 1976 when Michael Kokkinos open his first Restaurant in Naples Florida. Against his Father's advice not to get involved in restaurants he always said (if God doe's not like you anymore it gives you a restaurant)
But he fell in LOVE with Olives, Olive oil, and this was just the beginning.
Born in Kalymnos, Greece and travel back to his homeland in search for the small producer that will take pride in his Olive Oil Production.
Well he did not have to go far to find them. His father's family in Crete had what he needed the BEST Oil and Olives.
Few years later, Michael and his wife Alice develop the most efficient and durable peppermill in the world. They called ATLAS he establishes Peppermill Imports, and the rest is history.
Now Michael and partner Victor (x restaurateur) have a store in Seaside California (Mediterraneo Imports) and they import and distribute olive oil, olives, peppermills. Deruta,ceramics from Italy also fused art glass from artist Mihail in Greece.
Inspired by the Mediterranean, Michael and Alice Kokkinos desided to bring the lifestyle, decor, wine and food to Monterey Peninsula. Come and fill your own bottle with Extra Virgin olive Oil & Balsamic, Kalamata & Sherry Vinegars from Italy, Greece and Spain. We have the areas largest, DERUTA ceramics collection along with a variety of old California and Italian wines. And while browsing enjoy a complimetary espresso.
