- We are a small business run by a husband and wife partnership, and have been in business for 10 years now! Ocean Encounter started as a wholesale business specializing in live rock, corals and marine fish. We then opened a retail pet shop, several years and several children later, we decided to open a business that would allow us to be closer to home, that's how oceanencounter.com came about! Marine aquariums are not just our business, we are also very serious hobbyists, we have been in the hobby for 12 years and absolutely love it!!
