Ocean City Today, the leading newspaper on the Maryland coast, was founded in 1993 and is owned by a small group of local stockholders. It is distributed every Friday and is available free on newsstands throughout the Ocean City, Md. resort area with an average year-round circulation of 18,000.
The company launched a second publication, Ocean City Digest, in 1996. The Digest is available by paid subscription and publishes public notices generated by the courts and area governments.
In 1999, the company acquired Cablechannels, the only publication to run complete weekly listings of the local cable television network. Cablechannels is free on newsstands through the Maryland-Delaware resort area.
