Orange County Nursery - Bareroot, Specimen, Container&Fruit Trees
Description
History
The Orange County Nursery and Land Company was established in 1887 in Fullerton, California. In its early decades, the nursery supplied the growers and landowners of Orange and San Diego counties with a variety of nursery stock including bareroot fruit and nut trees, ball and burlap citrus and ornamental plants.
About 1917, Margarito Veyna emigrated from Mexico. One of his first jobs was with Orange County Nursery and Land Company. Margarito worked very hard learning all he could about growing nursery stock. By the mid 1930s, Margarito was able to purchase the company and the Veyna family has run it ever since. In those days, trees were sold for just a few cents a piece and the old adage "another day, another dollar" was a reality.
