Oakridge was first built in 1959 as a free-standing outdoor mall. In 1984, it was expanded to its present form as a fully-enclosed shopping centre and office complex. Cambridge Shopping Centres purchased Oakridge in 1985. In early 2001, Cambridge merged with Ivanhoe to become Ivanhoe Cambridge and now co-owns Oakridge with Omers Realty Corporation.
