Title

Oak Hill Academy

Description

Oak Hill Academy was founded in 1965 when a Charter of Incorporation was granted to Clay County Educational Foundation, Inc. by the State of Mississippi. Twenty-two acres of land were donated to the Corporation by Mr. E. E. Tumlinson, and construction of the first classroom building began in 1965.

Over the years, four elementary classroom buildings were constructed to house students in grades kindergarten through grade six. Separate junior and senior high school buildings were constructed; a cafeteria, band hall and gymnasium were constructed; and athletic facilities for football, baseball and tennis were also built.

Oak Hill's mission statements clearly set forth the purpose of the school, and all activities of the school, both academic and athletic, are designed to assure the accomplishment of the school's mission. Oak Hill is a non-sectarian school based on the Christian principles and dedicated to a quality educational program for students, pre - kindergarten through grade twelve. It is committed to the total development of each student who attends, and emphasis is placed on the academic, social, moral, personal and physical development of each student.
