Oliver Steele is a software entrepeneur living with his wife and two children in Amherst, MA. He is currently working on a Secret Project in Boston. He is works in programming language design, knowledge representation, and information visualization.
Prior to Secret Project, Oliver has been the Chief Software Architect at Laszlo Systems, Inc., where he lead the design of the OpenLaszlo XML application description language and created the Laszlo’s Boston office; the CTO at AlphaMask, Inc., which created the SharpMotionART (SMART) animation graphics technology and was purchased by OpenWave Systems Inc.; as Chief Ontologist at Method Software, Inc., developing software to create conversational agents; and at Apple Computer, where he was a contributor to Quickdraw GX and a project lead in the Dylan Programming Language project.
