Description
The New Zealand Institute of Sport (NZIS) was established in 1996 to provide tertiary training for those interested in a career in the Sport, Fitness and Recreation industry. A registered and accredited provider of NZQA approved tertiary programmes that are also Ministry of Education approved. NZIS saw the importance of linking student learning into nationally recognised qualifications.
These industry driven qualifications from SFRITO (New Zealand’s Sport, Fitness and Recreation Industry Training Organisation) reflect the rapidly expanding and changing needs of our dynamic Sports Industry.
NZIS provides students with an opportunity to fulfil their career and sporting potential. Our goal is to produce highly employable students with a high degree of transferable skills. This occurs where athletes are in an environment where they are able to develop their sporting potential while studying for a career. NZIS creates a warm and friendly atmosphere with approachable staff and students, this fosters an ideal learning environment.
