Our belief
We live in a world carved up by boundaries. Superficial differences in language, race, religion, social class, values and beliefs blind us to our shared humanity.
nuabs believes in transcending these artificial barriers, to seek the true essence that binds all of us together. This asks that we free our minds and hearts and break away from entrenched idealogies.
For only in a world where we find common grounds with one another, can we be accepted for who we are, our differences respected and free to live our dreams.

Our name
nuabs stands for “new Asian beings”.
As new Asian beings, we are self-determining individuals who shape our own destiny through conscious choices and actions: To be responsible, open-minded members of the global community.
nuabs was born when a group of friends were talking about what it meant to be Asian today. It is our attempt to unite and define ourselves as a people at the crossroads of the modern world and age-old Asian traditions.
We then came up with the brand as a concrete way to share our philosophy with people, and hopefully, inspire them. So you can say that nuabs is the expression of our sheer passion for living and humanity.
Our products
Our products tend to be simple and organic. They are made for all individuals, regardless of age, gender or race.
The nuabs sandals are inspired by those worn traditionally by farmers and peasants across the world. They were originally made from discarded tyre rubber cut to the size of one’s feet. A piece of animal hide would then be sewn over these rubber soles, and secured with a back-strap.
These sandals may look simple, but are actually durable and easy to wear – perfect for travelling or day-to-day use. We have made them more comfortable using genuine cow leather of the highest quality, with particular attention paid to design and finish. We have also further refined the design to carry modern urbanites from casual to semi-formal occasions.
This is our way of building common ground between the old rural and the new urban worlds.
