Nucare plc was founded in 1993 with a capital base of almost £0.5M raised from 180 shareholders, most of whom are independent pharmacists. A share issue in August 2000 enabled the company to raise £5M allowing the company to acquire synergistic businesses, branded products, new technologies and retailing systems.
