Description

NROC is a private, nonprofit education organization providing learning opportunities to students from across the United States. Courses cover a variety of subjects in which students learn from their own experiences. Our philosophy provides a non-traditional approach to traditional education. Thematic and project-oriented courses incorporate field studies, experimentation, individual reflection and group learning so that students are better able to achieve their educational goals.

NROC's innovative philosophy requires an innovative classroom. Students travel to various settings rather than being restricted to a central campus. This experiential approach enables students to use the surrounding environment as a living laboratory, immersing students in life as a learning activity.

Montana, situated in the heart of the Northern Rockies, is an ideal setting for our field-based learning. The Northern Rockies contains the largest wilderness and roadless lands in the lower 48 states and is home to an abundance of wildlife including grizzly bears, gray wolves, lynx, mountain lion, wolverine, moose, bighorn sheep, bison, mule deer, and elk. Thirty-five percent of Montana's acreage is public, approximately the size of the entire state of New York. From wide-open plains to snow capped peaks Montana diverse ecosystems offers unparalleled educational opportunities.
