About Us
North Saanich Online is a not-for-profit community newsletter covering issues of importance to the residents of the District of North Saanich. The newsletter is published by volunteers and funded by residents who believe that good communication with our elected representatives and among residents is fundamental to effective governance and the well-being of our community. North Saanich Online is independent of the Corporation of the District of North Saanich and is not affiliated with any political party. We do not accept third party advertising.
Editorial Team
Our editorial team is made up of volunteers from all walks of life who share the goals identified in our Editorial Policy. The editorial team is responsible for site content and administration. The team includes:
Renée Hetherington is a research scientist who works in the field of climate change and human evolution and adaptability at the University of Victoria. She is a Natural Science and Engineering Council (NSERC) fellow and has twice received the Anderson Interdisciplinary Research scholarship from the University of Victoria. Dr. Hetherington also has a Master in Business administration and has owned and operated a large cattle ranch. She has lived in North Saanich for over 10 years.
