2. Enhancing the quality of lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and intersexed people in New Jersey through public advocacy, education, political action, and legal reform.
The New Jersey Lesbian & Gay Coalition has served the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Communities for many years and has developed a very well recognized name since incorporating twenty years ago, at which time "Lesbian" was added to the title. As the communities served by the organization continued to increase, it has chosen not to continuously rename itself, which possibly endangers the recognition of the organization and the work it can do, as well as complicating legal and administrative concerns. The New Jersey Lesbian & Gay Coalition along with the Personal Liberty Fund continues to be of, by and for people of many communities, including bisexual, transgendered, questioning, people with AIDS, heterosexual, and intersexed people.
2. Enhancing the quality of the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, intersexed, transgendered, questioning and HIV/AIDS affected persons through education, cooperation, communication, legal reform, political advocacy and celebration.
