When founded in 1956, the Niagara Lutheran Home was the first freestanding nursing facility in Western New York. It was then and is now a not-for-profit, Christian-based organization. Through the years, the Niagara Lutheran Health System has evolved from a 60-bed nursing facility to its current status as a health system serving people on two campuses.
