nhfirstJob is the official web site of Insights into Industry: A Future in NH. Insights was developed in 1994 by the Belknap County Economic Development Council (BCEDC) in partnership with the Lakes Region office of New Hampshire Employment Security (NHES).
In 1999, Insights was expanded as a statewide initative of New Hampshire Employment Security and the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED). For more information on Insights into Industry, click here.
Formed in July of 1992, the BCEDC is a not-for-profit organization working for a healthy economy in Belknap County by helping keep a community "climate" where companies can survive and thrive, and by making sure that a variety of quality employment and economic opportunities exist. The BCEDC is one of the originators of the Insights into Industry program. Development assistance is available to new and established businesses. Services such as business planning, financial & loan program information, export assistance, market and product development, expansion, relocation & site location, workforce development, community and regional information & demographics are all provided free of charge. The Council has a Business Information Center open to the public. A well stocked and expanding library of reference materials together with computers, printers, business software, and the Internet are available for public use. There is also a direct link to the NH International Trade Resource Center. The BCEDC serves the communities of Alton, Barnstead, Belmont, Center Harbor, Gilford, Gilmanton, Laconia, Meredith, New Hampton, Sanbornton and Tilton.
