Description
Newtown CarShare is proud to be Australia's first professional car sharing service. As a community-based initiative the service was born and has grown on the strength of support and enthusiasm from local residents and businesses in the Inner-west of Sydney.
Newtown CarShare is operated by CarShare Australia, formed to bring car sharing services to Australia. Founded over 3 years ago by Directors Nic Lowe and Bruce Jeffreys, the company has developed a range of business and IT systems that enable the delivery of consulting, technical services and the provision of on-the-ground car share facilities.
Following involvement with the Masters program at Murdoch University Institute for Sustainability and Technology Policy, Bruce has worked extensively in both the private and government sectors. He has recently been an integral part of the NSW State Government's Sustainability Unit, based within the NSW Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources.
